Storytelling Reimagined: What Remains of Edith Finch

Rating: 9/10 ⭐️

"What Remains of Edith Finch" is a captivating game that follows the story of the Finch family through the eyes of Edith, the last surviving member. Playing on my iPhone with a controller, I was impressed by how smooth and engaging the experience was.

The game's story is its strongest point. As you explore the Finch family home, you uncover the tales of your ancestors, each one unique and memorable. The way these stories are told through different gameplay styles keeps things interesting throughout the short playtime.

What really stood out to me was how the game made me feel. Each family member's story, though brief, left a strong impression. The game balances sad moments with lighter ones, creating an emotional journey that felt very personal.

The technical aspects of the game are top-notch. The voice acting is excellent, making each character feel real and relatable. The visuals are also impressive, with the Finch house itself feeling like a character in the story. Each family member's tale has its own visual style, which adds to the overall experience.

The controls are simple but work well. Using a controller, I found it easy to interact with objects and move around. The gameplay fits nicely with the storytelling, never getting in the way of the story being told.

While the game is short, I felt it was just the right length. There's no filler, and every moment counts. It's a game that shows how powerful storytelling in video games can be, whether you're playing on a phone or a console.

It's a beautiful, touching game that I think anyone can enjoy, whether you play games often or not. If you're looking for a game with a great story that will stick with you, this is definitely one to try.
