This is my second book of 2023 and has been on my "Read Later" list since October when I came to know that Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli are making a movie inspired by the book which is going to be released later this year.

I read/listened to the audiobook with a forward from Neil Gaiman and narrated by Brian Nishii.

This book is a slice-of-life story that takes you to carefree happy days. You observe the world through Copper's curious eyes as he navigates high school, friendships, and life while pondering over the way the world works.

Copper is close to his uncle who maintains a journal writing to & addressing Copper about his observations, philosophizing, and giving advice to Copper.

This book is definitely for a younger audience and it strives to impart ethics, morality and urges you to be a good human being.

At less than 180 pages, this is a very easy, quick and pleasant read. Something for lazy weekends.

After reading this I’m definitely interested in seeing this as a Studio Ghibli movie and I’m glad that more people will be exposed to this through that.
